  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • 200 g apples (grated)
  • 110 g vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 140 g sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g butter
  • 165 g powdered sugar
  • 23 tsp caramel
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce by melting sugar with water until golden amber, then whisk in butter and cream, letting it cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  4. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy.
  5. Incorporate grated apples, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla into the creamed mixture.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet until just combined.
  7. Divide batter between two greased 9-inch round cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
