  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg (for pumpkin layer)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth. Stir in sugar and then add whisked eggs one at a time.
  3. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Pour this brownie mixture into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and cornstarch until smooth. Gently pour this over the brownie layer.
  5. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before cutting into squares.
