  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (cooled)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • Sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: mashed bananas, melted butter (cooled), buttermilk, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures until just blended; avoid overmixing.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle two tablespoons of caramel sauce over it and gently swirl with a knife. Add the remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for about 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before sprinkling sea salt on top and drizzling additional caramel sauce.
